Belgrade Beer Festival
Started in 2003, Belgrade Beer Fest is held annually over 3-4 days as a showcase event for various beer producers. In addition to domestic and foreign brews at affordable prices, the festival features live music performances each evening. It has quickly grown in size and popularity and is currently the most visited event in Serbia, with over 500,000 visitors in 2009.
The large number of visitors is mostly due to the basic festival principles - the entrance is free of charge, the music program is quite diverse and there is a wide range of foreign and domestic beer brands.
The festival was initially held at the foot of Belgrade's Kalemegdan fortress, but due to the increasing number of visitors was moved to the large plateau across the river - Ušće
It has been voted as one of the 10 most interesting things to do in 2006 by the British The Independent
