Serbian Railway Network

Numerous international railway lines link Serbia with all parts of Europe. Total railway track length is 3.808 km of which 3.533 km single track and 275 km double track. Internal rail services are generally poor. Services are often overbooked, unreliable and unsafe. Destinations accessible by rail include Bar, Belgrade, Niš, Novi Sad and Subotica. Serbian Intercity trains can be crowded, especially during holidays, and sometimes reservations don't help much. When planing a trip be aware of the lateness of the Serbian railway system. Buses are more reliable and generally more enjoyable to travel with.
